Bicycle travel and interaction for climate justice and bicycle culture development

Kathmandu: Bicycle travel and interaction are to be made by making bicycles the nature of travel and developing it as a culture and for climate justice.

Cycle activist Ratna Shrestha informed that the cycle journey will start from the office of Lalitpur Municipal Corporation on Saturday and will turn into interaction at the Central Population Studies Department of Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur. The cycle journey will start at 7 am. Similarly, the interaction program will start at 8:30 p.m.

He said the interaction program would be in solidarity with global efforts to call for zero emissions targets, equity, and climate change control.

He also said that the program would shed light on the scope of mobilizing climate funds for bicycle infrastructure and promotion. The program is being organized by Sustainable Development Institute, Nepal Cycle Society, Cycle City Network Nepal, Shaniwar Plain Air in collaboration with APMDD locally.

According to the organizers, the 'Saturday Plane Air' team will also perform live art reflecting the climate crisis and bicycle solutions.
