Dhangadi FC first finalist of the Nepal super league (NSL)

Dhangadi FC books its place at the finals of first Nepal Super League with a victory over Kathmandu Rayzrs in Qualifier 1. The game ended 1-2 in favor of Dhangadi FC after 120 minutes of rousing footballing action at Dasharath Rangasala.

What happened in the match?

The first half of the game ended in a goalless draw. Kathmandu Rayzrs made a total of 7 shots out of which 2 were on target. Meanwhile Dhangadi FC had just one shot and non on target.

First breakthrough of the game came at 75^th minute from Kathmandu Rayzrs. Messouke Olomou put in an enchanting cross from the left wings which was met by Tej Tamang to score a header. But the joy of Kathmandu Rayzrs was cut short by an overhead kick from Pujan Uperkoti after just 3 minutes. Dhangadi FC was awarded with three consecutive corner kicks. Bikesh Kuthu the captain and goal keeper of Kathamndu Rayzer came off his line to clear out the third corner kick. The ball was however turned back into attack which was then turned into goal on 78^th minute to equalize the score.

Both the teams were locked at 1-1 after full time, the game moved on to extra time. First half of the extra time ended with no changes in the score. In 108^th minute of the second half of extra time Katmandu Rayzrs had trouble clearing the ball out of danger zone. A header from Ramesh Dangal made its way to Bishal Rai who kept his cool and scored for Dhangadi FC which proved to be the winning goal of the game.

Dhangadi FC thus becomes the first finalist of the Nepal Super League. Kathmandu Rayzers will now face the winner of Qualifier 2 between Lalitpur City and Butwal Lumbini FC in an eliminator. The winner of the eliminator will join Dhangadi FC in the finals.
